SHOULD I KEEP UP WITH BROW SHAPING TRENDS?

Over the years there have been many trends in brow shaping, from the pencil thin, very round look of the 30s, 40s, and 50s (a la Greta Garbo and Joan Crawford) to the bushy inner brow of the early 80s (think the young Brooke Shields).  It seems like every season creates a new must-have look for eyebrows. 

At Highbrow we don’t believe following trends is such a good idea.  That’s because everyone’s face is so individual.  What works for one client might look awful on another – some can carry intense, heavy eyebrows while others look so much better with a more tailored shape.

Right now, the look is thick yet polished.  If you can carry it off, great!  We can create it for you.  If not, we’ll find the perfect, flattering style for your face.  That way, you’re guaranteed to always look your best.  And really, that’s so much more important than keeping up with the latest fad!

WHEN SHOULD I START SHAPING MY EYEBROWS?

This is the most common question Mums ask us on behalf of their teenage daughters, usually prompted by discovering same daughter in the bathroom hacking away at her beautiful, natural brows.
 
Put simply, if you’re asking the question, the answer is “Now!”

There’s no right or wrong age to get a brow makeover – whenever you feel you’re ready to begin taming and enhancing your brow line is the best time to start.

Highbrow generally uses tweezers for younger clients wanting a natural yet clean look.   Wax creates a very clean, crisp line, better for older women needing definition, but a natural brow works better on a developing face.

WHAT TOOLS DO YOU RECOMMEND TO MAINTAIN MY BROWS AFTER RESHAPING?

A good brow filler and a great pair of tweezers are all you need to keep your newly shaped brows looking fabulous.

Highbrow recommends a Crayon filler with a built in brow brush at one end and a wind-up crayon like stick on the other.  Choose one that is non-smudge and can be used semi-wet to dry that’s guaranteed not to budge all day.  Our salon carries the perfect filler in four different colours for $35.00 each.

Tweezing should be done every 3-5 days, depending on individual growth, until your next appointment.  Our top-of-the-range Tweezers will get the job done right at $40.00 each.
